Accessibility Statement

WCOE DMV wants its regional website and member Platform to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing product and content responsibility, not a one-time launch checkbox.

1. Accessibility target

WCOE DMV’s current design and development target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA where reasonably applicable to the Platform. This statement describes a target and ongoing effort; it is not a representation that every page, document, third-party service, or member-submitted item is fully conformant at all times.

2. Current practices

• Use semantic headings, labels, landmarks, and form instructions where reasonably practical.
• Support keyboard navigation and visible focus states for interactive controls.
• Maintain readable color contrast and scalable text within the design system.
• Provide meaningful alternative text or equivalent context for important images when available.
• Avoid unnecessary motion and preserve responsive use across common device sizes.
• Include accessibility review in material design, component, and release changes.

3. Third-party and submitted content

Some linked services, embedded tools, documents, photographs, event materials, or content submitted by members and partners may be controlled by third parties. WCOE DMV cannot guarantee the accessibility of independent third-party systems but will consider reasonable alternatives when a barrier is identified and an alternative is within WCOE DMV’s control.

4. Report a barrier or request assistance

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, need information in another reasonable format, or need help using a Platform feature, use the official Contact page. Please describe the page or feature, the barrier encountered, and the type of assistance that would be useful.

WCOE DMV will make reasonable efforts to respond and, when appropriate, may involve Marketus Aurelius, LLC as the technical service provider for investigation and remediation.

5. Continuous improvement

The Platform is in an initial launch and stabilization period. Accessibility findings may be addressed through ordinary maintenance, content remediation, or future releases. This Statement may be updated as the Platform and applicable guidance evolve.
